Moons in the Zodiac

Many witches plan their spells and rituals around the lunar calendar. Each day the moon crosses through a zodiac constellation and being basically a enormous crystal, charges with the metaphysical properties of that zodiac sign. Typically, the moon changes zodiacs in order every two or three days.
Moon work can be as simple or complicated as you want to make it, but as with all magickal things, one cannot simply pick and choose which metaphysical properties will affect their spell work. However, a witch can choose to set his or her intention to specific metaphysical properties within that group of metaphysical properties, but it does not mean that those other metaphysical properties are not present. For example, someone with anxiety may seek out a crystal like amethyst, but amethyst also can open one’s third eye. Naturally, a person with anxiety will likely experience hallucinations or very bad dreams related to the source of their anxieties if they choose to use amethyst.
Similarly, the zodiacs have several metaphysical properties associated with them and so do the phases of the moon.

To plan out spells based on the lunar calendar, one must be aware of ALL the metaphysical properties involved in the phases and the constellations. For example, let’s say we want to perform a spell to have better communication, because your mouth has been getting you into trouble. The waning gibbous moon in Libra, Aquarius, Pisces, Cancer, or Taurus would be appropriate. Additionally, you’ll want to break down the other metaphysical properties of the constellations to solidify which one you should use. Continuing our example, let’s say your communication errors are due to talking without thinking. Taurus would then be more appropriate because it has to do with patience. Next, you’ll want to double check the metaphysical properties of Taurus and make sure they don’t misalign with your intention. In this case, they don’t so your spell would be most effectively performed when the waning gibbous moon is moving through Taurus.
Here’s a couple more examples:
Quick Cash for Bills: Waxing Gibbous in Capricorn
Increase Romance: Waxing Crescent in Aries
Banish Imposter’s Syndrome: Full Moon in Sagittarius
Forgiveness from Others: First Quarter Moon in Pisces
Make New Friends: New Moon in Aquarius
Cord Cutting: Waning Crescent in Aries
IMPORTANT TO NOTE. The above are merely suggestions, you can use the same logic to pick a phase and constellation that will best fit your purposes. There are multiple ways to go about doing things.
NOTE 2. Don’t panic if you miss the moon you wanted in a specific constellation. Reiterating the above note, there are plenty of phase and constellation combinations that would be appropriate for your spell or ritual!
We hope this was helpful :)
